Local lady all the way...

We live in Somerville, MA. I often forget that we live in "the city," so you can witness different and maybe even a little uncomfortable situations. We were walking down the bike path from our house (most places have bike paths to public transportation, right?) to get ice cream with our friends the Polkies. While MM and I were walking, we noticed a man coming up behind us playing the guitar. MM was fascinated, but it really didn't seem too odd. As we arrived at the end of the path, a man shouting continuous profanity passed us. We kept pressing on-chocolate ice cream on our minds. After meeting our friends and securing our ice cream picks, Kristen and I began chatting while the 3 youngest were secure in strollers. All of a sudden we noticed what MM was doing. (earlier she asked what they were. I explained that they were sculptures or statues that someone did as art). She was walking around the statues in a circle while patting their booties. Disturbing? I have always thought MM has a little of an artist flare, but patting the sculptures like this, well, it is questionable. All to say, she is definitely a local. Don't think we can move.
